MELLING PERFORMANCE This item is for the Melling timing chain damper and adapter bracket kit for early GM/Chevrolet LS-series V-8 engines not originally equipped with a timing chain damper. P/N BD417-DBRKT. Feel free to message us with fitment questions. This adapter bracket allows for the use of a LS2-style timing chain damper on early GM LS-series engines/blocks that are not drilled to accept a timing chain damper. This kit includes the adapter bracket, damper, and hardware; see below for contents. FALCON TECH NOTE : GM used two different camshaft retaining plates for these engines. This kit must be used with a cam retaining plate WITHOUT recess bolts.
